Desk ornament, stone paperweight for literature lovers and George Orwell 1984 fans.
An extract from Orwell's 1984 is handwritten with black archival ink on antique paper which is applied on the surface of this heavy stone.
In this passage Orwell's character, Winston, commits his first act of resistance to the regime: writing down his thoughts.
"The pen was an archaic instrument, seldom used even for signatures and he had procured one with some difficulty simply because of a feeling that the beautiful creamy paper deserved to be written on with a real nib instead of being scratched with an ink pencil. He dipped the pen into the ink and then faltered for a second. To mark the paper was the decisive act."
